My First Comic Book Work Is Going To Print

Some time ago, Harold Jennett asked if I would contribute a short story to a comic anthology he was helming.

I immediately said yes.

So I took what was probably the first thing I ever wrote, and adapted it (changing it greatly) into a short story for Harold.

Fast forward to now and the anthology is complete and ready to print. What's even better is that you have the chance to go ahead and nap your copy early before it goes up on places like Indy Planet and DCBS.

Here's the official announcement from Harold's site:

Shelter is a 52 page black and white comics anthology, who’s proceeds are going towards “Food on Foot”, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the poor and homeless of Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and assistance in the transition to employment and life off the streets (You can get more info HERE).

Shelter has action, humor, and heart. You’ll find tales of alien cowboys, teenaged detectives, walrus men, stale popcorn, plus a serious story or two. Includes work by Andrew Charipar, Keith W. Cunningham, Jay Fife, Moses Garcia, Harold C. Jennett III, Ryan King, Elizabeth Amber Love, Adam Markiewicz, Chris Murrin, Steeven Orr, Dean E. Stahl, Mark Stegbauer, and Thom Zahler.

Copies are $6, plus $1 shipping. Digital pdf copies are $2. If you’d like a copy, please email me HERE, and I can send you a payment request through Paypal. I’ll be taking orders until January 16th, 2012.

Copies will also be available through Indyplanet in the future, and also hopefully DCBService.

The story that Andrew and I contributed is called I Am The Walrus and stars Norman Oklahoma.

How about a couple of preview pages!
