Do you like stories of the zombie apocalypse?

You're introduced to your main cast of characters when suddenly the world goes belly up as the undead start biting and killing and ending civilization as we know it.

We then follow our group of characters as the practice the art of survival. Scrounging food from abandoned stores, fighting back against the zombie horde, finding places of safety to hold up and just try to get by.

Well, replace zombies with bears, and you have Bearmageddon.

There really isn't much more that I need to say, right?

Per the site, Bearmageddon is - "an online graphic novel about a few twenty-something slackers getting caught up in an all-out war on mankind by grizzly bears with only a mountain man to help them. Written and illustrated by Ethan Nicolle (Axe Cop) and colored by Kailey Frizzell."

The site goes on to say that Bearmageddon will be three volumes. Volume 1 is already complete, and if you go to the site and sign up for the mailing list, you get a PDF of Volume 1 for free.

I've read Volume 1 and I loved it. I've just started in on Volume 2, and so far the following panel is my favorite of the series:

If you find that panel intriguing, or you like the idea of survival horror done with bears, do yourself a favor and take a moment to check it out.

You can find the site at

Great story, genius concept, beautiful art . . . and free. What do you have to lose?
